NELA NAVARRINE

Nelida “Nela” Navarrine grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She earned a bachelor degree in Information Technology from the University of Buenos Aires and moved to St. Louis in 2009.

Her interest in painting began twenty years ago as a way to find a new passion in life. She studied since then with excellent teachers that taught her to find “colors in whites” and to “look deeper” into the world around her.

Encaustic, oil and cold wax are her main mediums to create vibrant, textured and translucent works. She paints between fused layers of wax, between layers of resin or on canvas.
