ABOUT
Nela Navarrine didn't set out to become an artist. She set out to find herself, and discovered a new language spoken through color, flowers, and light.
A former IT consultant turned internationally recognized mixed-media artist, Nela discovered that the greatest transformation happens when you stop following the plan and start following your passion.

Bio
Nélida “Nela” Navarrine discovered her path in painting after moving from Buenos Aires to St. Louis in 2009. With a professional background in designing information systems, she turned toward art to pursue a long-standing passion.
Working with encaustic, resin, metals, and mixed media, Nela creates layered pieces that combine different materials and textures, allowing each work to evolve organically. She describes her art as a form of communication beyond spoken language—an expression of emotion, movement, and connection.
Through her artistic journey, Nela has found a deep sense of peace and fulfillment. She hopes her work inspires others to express themselves freely and discover the joy and freedom that creativity can bring.
Why Resin?
Nela's resin artworks begin with a process of layering. Between each layer of resin, she hand-paints directly into the piece, creating a sense of depth where each mark becomes part of the story. The artwork continues to evolve as layers build, revealing details that feel almost suspended within the surface.
Unlike traditional paintings, resin invites you to experience the work differently from every angle. As light shifts across the piece, new elements appear and familiar details take on a new life. Each original is a journey of discovery, created slowly and intentionally by hand.
